Double Chocolate Banana Bread

A decadent banana bread that is really more like a brownie. Sweet, chocolatey, and very moist. You wouldn't even know it has some healthy swaps (Greek yogurt instead of oil or butter, and banana-heavy to reduce added sugars). From 52 Weeks of Baking 2026.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare a loaf tin with parchment paper and olive oil on the small sides.
  3. Mash the bananas.
  4. Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix eggs, Greek yogurt, bananas, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
  6. Add cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips.
  8. Pour into the pan and bake uncovered for 1 hour.

Notes

Next time, the sugar can be reduced to ¼ cup. Add ¼ cup of almond flour or chopped walnuts for extra texture.
